Mexico Digital Trade Dialogue

The Mexico Digital Trade Dialogue was hosted on March 3rd, 2021 by the Latin American eCommerce Institute, Mexican Association of Online Sales (AMVO), and supported by the Alliance for eTrade Development.

The meeting was held virtually and its main objective was to catalyze discussions and support for the growth of Mexico's ecommerce sector and the work of the Mexican government in promoting the digital economy and MSMEs, with a particular focus on women-led businesses in ecommerce. 

 

Topics discussed include:

 

  • Mexico’s ongoing work to promote MSME ecommerce and economic recovery

  • Success stories from women entrepreneurs

  • Digital cross-border payments for MSME ecommerce, including cybersecurity and digital identity solutions

 

  • Ecommerce logistics, last-mile delivery, and trade facilitation

  • MSME finance instruments and role of Fintechs to enable MSME ecommerce

  • MSME ecommerce capacity-building and export promotion, especially to enable women-led businesses

  • Discussion on USMCA and USMCA digital trade chapter as an enabler of MSME ecommerce between Mexico and the United States

  • Regional initiatives that promote and accelerate the inclusive development of ecommerce
